This is just a small list of my favorite links to other bird-related web
sites with descriptions. I'll be continuously updating this page so if you

Bird Information Resources
- Acme Pet's Avian Directory - avian guide to the internet. They have links to everything arranged into different areas such as reference, articles, rescue centers, clubs, events and a whole marketplace of parrot product suppliers and manufacturers.

The Pepperberg Home Page, Communication with Parrots - features
Alex the Wonder Grey. Irene Pepperberg's studies with Alex, an African Grey, have been ground breaking. Alex's linguistic and cognitive abilities are astounding and have furthered studies in the
following areas: Studies of avian versus mammalian brain function, Programs for teaching language to developmentally-delayed children, Targeting parrots for wildlife conservation initiatives. Please check this site out!
- The Aviary - some of the areas included in this site: types of birds, new birds, bird care, illnesses, breeders & adoption centers, resources, things to buy, legislation & conservation, services, lost or stolen birds, wild bird rescue, fun stuff & gifts.
- Birds n Ways - a
comprehensive and informative site on all aspects of aviculture. With information on associations/clubs, bird shows, toy ideas, avian vets, pet stores, classifieds, internet mailing lists, recipes, avian product manufacturers/suppliers and an "Ask the Expert" area. I personally love their articles and found them to be very useful.
- The CAGTAG-L Home Page - this is the official home page for the CAGTAG-L mailing list for African Grey owners. This site has tons of great resources on the care of African Greys. There is also a list of CAGTAG-L members with links to their and their Greys' home pages.
- The Flights of Fancy - a huge, visually stunning web site devoted to all manner of winged creatures, real and mythical. There is info on responsibly choosing a pet bird, what bird ownership is all about and a list of helpful bird books. There are also sections on raptors and wild birds. If you have the time, I strongly suggest entering thru the Flights of Fancy "front door" and looking around. It's a beautiful web site in which your "heart and spirit will take flight."
- The Jane Hallander - an "animal communicator" and avian behaviorist who can give you insight into your pet's behavioral problems from their point of view. I've personally enlisted Jane's services on numerous occasions with my own birds with amazing results. She's even had particular success in helping birds that suffer from chronic feather plucking! - The Kim's Aviary Home Page - This is a fantastic site, chock full of information on African Greys. You can learn all about African Greys including their history and habitat or see a Grey photo gallery. There is a FAQ, message board, and chat area. The site has an excellent breakdown of what a healthy and nutritious African Grey diet should be.
- Parrot FAQs - a fantastic collection of FAQs from r.p.b. (rec.pets.birds) on every aspect of parrot ownership such as care & feeding, cages, perches, toys, training, etc. A must for new bird owners!
- The Pet Bird Page - this site was set up to: Help you find the right bird for you, Help you find others whom you can talk to, Help you raise a happy and healthy bird. Has data sheets on every kind of parrot.
- The Pet Bird Report - a magazine for parrot owners published by Sally Blanchard (avian behaviorist). The magazine deals with every aspect imaginable of aviculture. You can find articles on breeding, care, training, nutrition, behavioral problems, toy manufacturers, parrot humor, personal stories, etc.
- The Pet Human Report - a humorous look at us, featherless bird companions, through the eyes of Jing the Timneh African Grey. Jing is a "human behaviorist" and gives advice on how to properly train and interact with us humans. A great way to brighten you day!

- The ULTIMATE list of
Bookmarks - this is Scott Lewis' bookmarks of bird related web sites. It's unbelievable! If you're looking for a parrot web site, look no further!
- Up At Six Aviaries - is another great aviculture site. Here are some of the areas this site contains: ask the experts about your bird related questions, avian associations, shopping, birds for sale, online bird chat groups, articles on aviculture, mailing lists, rec.pets.birds faq, avian software, fun stuff.

- Fowl Play Parrot Toys
- Li'l Tweets - Toys for
Small Birds. I was really psyched to find a site that kept the little guys
in mind. It's great to find toys for little birds. Pea-chan definitely
appreciates it!
- Nefret Design - A pet lover's
paradise! Lots of great gifts such as buttons, magnets, keychains,
t-shirts, etc. You can also get a picture of your pet on funny backdrops
"Petscapes". There are gifts for lovers of dogs, cats, parrots, ferrets,
and iguanas! What a fun site!
Personal Home Pages
- The Amazing Parrot CAM
- you can see up-to-minute photos Featuring Webster a Senegal Parrot
- Arrowhead Aviary - Now this is a blast! This site has
live, streaming video of 26 parrots from their Rain
Forest Room on the internet. Visitors can pan, tilt and zoom the camera
allowing them to tour a 900 square foot aviary where the parrots are
free to fly as if they were in the wild. You can watch their behavior
and even see it rain three times a day. They even have their own
waterfall that gives them the sense of being in nature. All of the
parrots have been hand raised from chicks and are unbelievably happy rooming in
their own Rain Forest Room. Click on the Streaming Video link between 7am and 7pm MDT (Colorado) and
enjoy. Now this is one dedicated bird parent!!
- Baby Budgie Home Page - Tons of stuff for you budgie lovers out there. There are photos, links, budgie history, poems, cartoons, craft ideas, health topics and even a very cute "budgie ownership" certificate you can print up. Also see their collection of Budgerigar Memoriabillia.
- Bird Cage Home Page
- Kurt Thams has been kind enough to compile a large collection of very
cute birdie pictures of netizens far and wide. There are also great photos
and audio recordings of his bird Chilipepper. Take some time and browse
through all the great pix.
- The Budgie
Place - visit with Mindy's flock of budgies, Persephonie, Diamonds,
Apollo & Ruffles. There are tons of links to other budgie sites as well as
sound files, budgie humor, and bird card information.
- Cujo the African
Grey Parrot - the original CujoCAM is down but you can still read
about this famous WWW bird. Cujo and his owner will be moving to a new
place of employment.
- Dee's Parrot Page - meet Bogie the Grey, Angel the parakeet and Freckles a very cute cocker spaniel.
- John Sielke's Home Page - lots of pictures of macaws and cockatoos.
- Jun's Home
Page - meet a very sweet 'tiel from Japan and her 3 budgie buddies.

- Marilyn Whalen's Flock - come see the most infamous lovebird on the net, Trouble! You'll also enjoy the rest of Marilyn's flock Peaches the Pied Peachface Lovebird, Jardy the Jardine's, Tussy the canary, Piper the Brown-headed parrot, Sassy the Bronze Wing Pionus, Gaby the Caique and Blackie the Green Cheek Conure. There are tons of photos and possibly the best and most adorable lovebird pictures I've ever seen!
